Patna, May 22 (NationPress) The mortal remains of Havildar Santosh Yadav, who made the ultimate sacrifice during a counter-terror operation in Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, were transported back to his hometown, Ismailpur Bhatta in Bhagalpur on Thursday.
As his body arrived, schoolchildren, villagers, and local residents filled the streets, chanting, "Shaheed Santosh Yadav Amar Rahe" and waving the Tricolour in honor of the brave soldier.
The remains reached Patna airport late Wednesday night, where a solemn wreath-laying ceremony took place.
Tributes from various political leaders flooded in, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, Union Minister Giriraj Singh, among other dignitaries who paid their respects with floral tributes.
Giriraj Singh criticized the absence of Congress representatives, labeling it a sign of disrespect, and expressed on social media, "Salute to his sacrifice for the nation. His bravery will continue to inspire. Jai Hind".
