Patna, April 10 (NationPress) In a major turn of events concerning the ongoing inquiry into the NEET-UG 2024 question paper leak, the Bihar Police have declared a reward of Rs 3 lakh for any leads that could lead to the capture of Sanjeev Kumar Singh alias Sanjeev Mukhiya, who is purportedly the mastermind behind this scandal.
A formal communication was dispatched from the office of Kundan Krishnan, Additional Director General (ADG) of Bihar Police Headquarters, informing the public regarding the bounty. Additionally, rewards have been established for two other individuals implicated in the case.
Authorities stated that both law enforcement personnel and civilians who provide successful information leading to the apprehension of the fugitives will receive the reward.
This announcement will remain in effect for two years, meaning that if any police officer apprehends these three suspects within this period, they will qualify for the reward.
The additional accused are Shubham Kumar and Rajkishore Kumar, for whom the Bihar Police has set a bounty of Rs 1 lakh each. Shubham resides in Beechbazar under the jurisdiction of Sohsarai Police Station in Nalanda district and has been implicated in two cases.
Raj Kishore Kumar, also involved in two cases, lives in Bakhtari village within the limits of Karpi Police station in Arwal district.
The police are appealing to the public to provide credible information regarding the location of the fugitives.
All informants' identities will be kept strictly confidential, and they will be eligible for the stated rewards, the officials assured.
Sanjeev Kumar Singh, known as Sanjeev Mukhiya, is among those accused in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case initially filed at Shastri Nagar Police Station (Case No. 358/2024), which involves a Constable Recruitment scam, a Teachers Recruitment scam, and another ongoing investigation. Mukhiya hails from Shahpur Balwa village under the jurisdiction of Nagarnausa Police Station in Nalanda district.
The NEET-UG paper leak controversy came to light on May 5, 2024, when Patna Police identified irregularities during the national medical entrance examination.
The inquiry was initially conducted by the Shastri Nagar police, later transitioned to the Economic Offences Unit (EOU), and ultimately transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on June 23, 2024.
The CBI's FIR implicated eight suspects, including Sanjeev Mukhiya, Ayush Raj, Rocky, Amit Anand, Nitish Kumar, Bittu, Akhilesh, and Sikandar Yadavendu. Sanjeev Mukhiya has a documented history of orchestrating high-profile examination frauds and is now one of the most wanted criminals in Bihar.
