Patna, Nov 13 (NationPress) The Bihar Police is gearing up to take significant action against RJD MLC Sunil Singh, a close associate of Lalu Prasad Yadav, after he reportedly made provocative remarks just before the Bihar Assembly election results.
In response to Singh's contentious statements, DGP Vinay Kumar has instructed police officials to initiate legal proceedings against him.
Following this directive, the Patna Cyber Police Station has commenced legal actions.
Taking note of the remarks, Sub-Inspector Khushbu Kumari, stationed at the Patna Cyber Police Station, filed a formal written complaint.
In her documentation, she mentioned, “At approximately 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, we received information via social media and electronic platforms indicating that RJD MLC Sunil Singh was making inflammatory comments regarding the vote counting. His statements have the potential to incite hatred, disrupt public order, and foster enmity among communities, thus posing a law and order threat. Therefore, legal action is warranted.”
The police are currently reviewing digital evidence linked to Singh’s comments, and a thorough investigation is ongoing.
The vote counting for the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is slated for Friday (November 14).
Just a day ahead of the results, Sunil Singh — a close aide of Lalu Prasad Yadav — is accused of making statements that warned of a public uprising similar to that of Nepal in Bihar if any “rigging” occurs during the counting.
“During the 2020 Bihar Assembly election, the counting was delayed by 4 to 5 hours. If this scenario reoccurs tomorrow, either our candidate will emerge from the counting centers, or the returning officers will,” Singh declared.
He went on to assert that such a situation would be challenging to manage and that RJD supporters would take to the streets if the results were tampered with.
The RJD leader also accused certain elements within the government of potentially attempting to interfere with the counting process.
Sunil Kumar Singh’s remarks have thrust him back into the spotlight of controversy, known for his candid statements.
