New Delhi, July 5 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Saturday that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar is moving forward at a strong pace. There is significant involvement from electoral officials, political party representatives, and a multitude of volunteers at the grassroots level, all dedicated to ensuring that no eligible voter is overlooked.
As per an official update from the Commission, by 6 p.m. on Saturday, a total of 1,04,16,545 Enumeration Forms had been collected, representing 13.19 percent of the overall 7,89,69,844 registered electors in Bihar as of June 24, 2025.
The distribution rate of Enumeration Forms has reached 93.57 percent, with 7,38,89,333 forms already issued.
The ECI praised the relentless work of 77,895 Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are visiting homes, assisting voters in completing and submitting their Enumeration Forms. In many cases, BLOs are capturing live images of voters using mobile devices, which helps them avoid the inconvenience of going to photo studios.
For added convenience, partially filled forms can be downloaded from the ECI's voter portal https://voters.eci.gov.in and the ECINET App, where voters can also upload their completed forms.
To ensure timely and efficient completion of the revision process, an additional 20,603 BLOs are being deployed.
The campaign is further bolstered by nearly 4 lakh volunteers, including government officials, NCC cadets, and NSS members, who are providing assistance to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, persons with disabilities (PwDs), the ill, and others facing mobility challenges.
The process is under the close supervision of 239 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 963 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 38 District Election Officers (DEOs), and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar.
Political parties are also significantly contributing to the effort, with a total of 1,54,977 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) from various parties actively supporting the SIR initiative by collaborating with BLOs and assisting voters.
