BJP Challenges Rahul Gandhi's Inaction on Karnataka Contractor's Suicide Linked to Kharge's Son

New Delhi, Jan 4 (NationPress) BJP leader and former MP GVL Narasimha Rao has raised concerns regarding the silence of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi in connection with the suicide of civil contractor Sachin Panchal in Karnataka.
Rao emphasized that the evidence strongly implicates Congress Minister Priyank Kharge, son of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
He revealed that the suicide note from the deceased contractor has been forwarded to Rahul Gandhi, who remains unresponsive on the issue.
“We demand prompt action and the dismissal of Minister for RDPR, IT and BT Priyank Kharge from his ministerial role,” he insisted.
Rao further asserted that the circumstances surrounding Sachin Panchal's suicide require accountability from the Siddaramaiah-led government.
The suicide note outlines instances of blackmail, extortion, and coercion involving a person named Raju Kapanur, who is closely associated with Priyank Kharge and is labeled as a 'Rowdy Cheater' in police documentation, with multiple cases against him.
Rao pointed out that the suicide note explicitly states that the contractor faced direct life threats from Raju Kapanur, along with a demand for Rs 1 crore.
This situation indicates blatant extortion by the Congress party in Karnataka, he highlighted.
The Siddaramaiah government has demonstrated itself as one of the most corrupt administrations in Karnataka's history, he criticized.
Priyank Kharge should step down, and the Congress party must ensure his resignation. With him in office, attempts to shield the extortionist Raju Kapanur are inevitable, he noted.
While CM Siddaramaiah claims the suicide note lacks authenticity, the FSL report later confirmed it was indeed written by the civil contractor. The suicide note also refers to life threats against others, including BJP MLA Basawaraj Mattimud. Consequently, the Karnataka Police have initiated an FIR, and the case has been transferred to the CID. Despite this, the CM continues to pretend ignorance. If the suicide note were not genuine, why would the police acknowledge it, and why would the FSL provide such validation? Narasimha Rao questioned.
Moreover, we demand an apology from CM Siddaramaiah for his false statements. The Congress party must also apologize to the people of Karnataka for delivering the most corrupt government in the state's history.
In the meantime, BJP leaders faced detention during a major protest outside the residence of Minister Priyank Kharge in his hometown of Kalaburagi. The BJP has vowed to persist until justice is served for the contractor’s family.
Priyank Kharge has firmly rejected the allegations against him, asserting that the government will pursue justice for the family. He also claimed that Sachin's family is being pressured to turn against him.
In a strong response to Vijayendra, Minister Priyank stated, “One should be cautious with their words regarding us. We do not engage in ‘supari’ politics in Kalaburagi. We cannot follow the BJP's script. Every time there is a death, it seems to be a celebration for the BJP.”
