Karnataka: Contractor Takes His Life, Blames Aide of Priyank Kharge

Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Dec 27 (NationPress) A young contractor tragically ended his life on Thursday in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, following reported threats to his life and extortion by an aide of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge, as stated by police.
The individual has been identified as 26-year-old Sachin.
He died by committing suicide in front of a moving train, and authorities discovered his body on the railway tracks near Kattitongov in Bidar district.
Sachin left behind a seven-page suicide note in which he accused Minister Kharge's aide and former member of the Kalaburagi City Corporation, Raju Kapanuru, of contributing to his tragic decision.
In his note, the deceased alleged that Kapanuru had taken Rs 15 lakh from him with the promise of securing a tender, only to betray him instead.
Furthermore, it was claimed that Kapanuru demanded Rs 1 crore from Sachin and made threats to his life, according to police reports.
The contractor's note mentioned six individuals he held responsible for his demise.
It stated that alongside Raju Kapanuru, the others also issued death threats against him.
The family of the deceased is expressing their outrage over the situation and has called for the immediate arrest of those implicated.
In response to these developments, Minister Priyank Kharge stated, "I have just learned of this incident. I will demand an investigation, regardless of whether the accused is my associate or a member of the Congress party. I will not attempt to hush this issue and will advocate for a thorough inquiry with Home Minister G. Parameshwara."
The Karnataka BJP unit previously accused Priyank Kharge of being directly involved in a series of murders targeting its party workers in his home district of Kalaburagi.
They also claimed that during Kharge's time in office, incidents of murder and extortion have surged, stating, "Since Priyank Kharge took over as the district in-charge minister of Kalaburagi, BJP workers and leaders have been murdered one after another."
The BJP has asserted that Kharge, who has allegedly allowed criminals to operate freely in Kalaburagi, is directly accountable for the worsening law and order situation.
After the murder of Mahantappa Aloore, another BJP leader, Girish Chakra, was also killed, according to BJP sources.
"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, please dismiss Minister Priyank Kharge, who is responsible for the collapse of law and order in Kalaburagi district," the BJP urged.
