Karnataka BJP Protests, Commits to Pursue Justice in Contractor's Suicide Incident

Kalaburagi (Karnataka), Jan 4 (NationPress) The BJP in Karnataka organized a substantial protest in Kalaburagi on Saturday, insisting on the resignation of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge regarding the contractor suicide case and calling for the investigation to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

BJP leaders who marched towards Minister Kharge's residence were halted near the Deputy Commissioner's office and subsequently detained. The leaders and party supporters were removed from the site in buses. The BJP has pledged to continue their fight until justice is served in the contractor suicide case.

Opposition Leader, R. Ashoka, who spearheaded the protest, addressed the large crowd near Jagat Circle in Kalaburagi, demanding Minister Kharge's resignation over the suicide of contractor Sachin Panchal.

Ashoka further accused Raju Kapanur, a key suspect in Sachin’s suicide, of being a protected criminal linked to Congress. “They removed his name from the Goonda Act but are now attempting to distance themselves from him. Among the accused are three Congress leaders,” Ashoka stated, asserting that the BJP would not cease until justice is achieved in this case.

He also claimed that prices for milk, petrol, alcohol, electricity, and bus fares have increased under the Congress regime, ridiculing the Congress government for imposing taxes on everything except air.

Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, questioned the merit behind Priyank Kharge’s ministerial appointment, implying it was based on favoritism.

The BJP leader criticized Kharge, alleging he has abused constitutional rights and marginalized other Dalit leaders.

Narayanaswamy challenged Kharge to explain why Scheduled Caste members in Kalyana Karnataka have not progressed, asserting, “We are not here to seize your possessions; the populace will determine your future.”

State Vice President N. Mahesh remarked, “We defeated the Razakars and chased the Nizam to Pakistan. The citizens will soon send you away too. In a democracy, power is never eternal.”

BJP MLC C.T. Ravi expressed, “Karnataka will not tolerate 'contract politics.' Only constitutional governance will thrive here. The residents of Kalaburagi will reject those engaged in such dealings.”

Ravikumar accused Priyank Kharge of providing luxuries like tender coconut water and snacks for BJP workers while neglecting serious matters.

He urged Kharge to visit the family of deceased contractor Sachin Panchal if he possesses any humanity or integrity.

Ravikumar criticized the police for their failure to register an FIR when Sachin’s sisters approached them, alleging they were under Priyank Kharge’s influence. “Shame on you! Does this not ignite any fire in your conscience?” he exclaimed.

The BJP leaders collectively condemned the Congress government for its perceived failures, corruption, and inability to uphold justice. They resolved to amplify their struggle until Sachin Panchal's family receives justice.

In the meantime, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra, speaking to the media in Shivamogga, called for a CBI investigation into the case, alleging that Congress leader Raju Kapanur, a close ally of Priyank Kharge, threatened Sachin Panchal, culminating in his suicide.

He demanded the resignation of Priyank Kharge, drawing parallels with the DSP late Ganapathi suicide case, which resulted in Minister George's resignation.

He challenged Priyank Kharge to facilitate a CBI inquiry if he is sincere.

“Do not place your trust in the Chief Minister; justice appears improbable. Conspiracies are brewing even within your own party against you,” Vijayendra warned Priyank Kharge, adding that the BJP will ensure justice for Panchal’s family through legal avenues.

He emphasized that there would be no leniency for Priyank Kharge, questioning his leadership and demanding accountability and integrity in addressing the allegations.
