Chennai, Nov 16 (NationPress) The president of Tamil Nadu BJP, Nainar Nagenthran, sharply criticized Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday, accusing the DMK government of permitting significant industrial investments to leave the state due to administrative "failures" and "poor investor confidence".
This condemnation arose after Hwasung, a footwear manufacturer from South Korea, which had earlier planned a Rs 1,720-crore project in Tamil Nadu, reportedly redirected its investment to Andhra Pradesh.
Nagenthran demanded answers from the Chief Minister regarding his awareness of the company's decision, which was expected to generate almost 20,000 direct jobs for the youth of Tamil Nadu.
He emphasized that this development highlights the "inefficiency and indifference" of the current administration.
Despite Stalin's proclamations that he would never let Tamil Nadu bow down, Nagenthran stated, "Under this ineffective government, young people have now lost 20,000 direct job opportunities". He attributed this to an administration that fails to protect existing investments and lacks initiative to retain interested companies.
Drawing a parallel to the tale of the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf', Nagenthran remarked, "The government repeatedly announces big investments, only for them to end up in neighboring states. This has become a predictable pattern."
He further criticized the Chief Minister's overseas trips aimed at attracting investors, labeling them as unproductive.
"The Chief Minister returns from abroad claiming to have secured investments, but those that come without effort slip away due to administrative negligence," he noted.
Labeling this a "serious setback for Tamil Nadu's industrial prospects," the BJP leader asserted that the DMK government is undermining the state's economic future.
Nagenthran also questioned CM Stalin's repeated assertions of returning to power in 2026 to help Tamil Nadu "stand tall", stating, "When the government itself is weakening the state day by day, such claims sound laughable."
He demanded a comprehensive explanation from the state government on how a significant project it had once celebrated was lost within just a few months.
