Gandhinagar, Nov 16 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the ongoing construction site of the bullet train station in Surat, Gujarat on Saturday, assessing the advancements of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR). He engaged with the engineering and technical team involved in India’s inaugural bullet train venture, gathered their insights, and proposed the establishment of a 'blue book' to document innovations and lessons learned during this journey.

During his interaction with a diverse assembly of managers, technical experts, and laborers, PM Modi inquired, “What’s your perspective and evaluation of the bullet train – are we making progress at the right speed or is there a delay?”

“We are advancing rapidly and are incredibly proud to be part of this project,” they collectively affirmed.

A young woman from Kerala, who manages the robotics-led noise control unit, excitedly shared her experience with the Prime Minister, expressing her enthusiasm about contributing to India’s first bullet train project.

Another female worker articulated that participating in the bullet train project was a moment of pride for her and her family, eagerly anticipating the realization of this dream.

PM Modi aimed to motivate the workers by lauding their role as the ‘pioneers’ of India’s high-speed rail connectivity landscape, emphasizing that their contributions will be remembered by future generations.

Shruti, who oversees the design and engineering control department, informed the Prime Minister that all departments, including hers, are diligently working on meticulous planning and execution.

“At every phase, a detailed presentation and implementation strategy is formulated, and then during execution, we assess the advantages and drawbacks of each initiative before proceeding,” she explained to PM Modi, who suggested the creation of a 'blue book' to encapsulate their experiences as valuable lessons for the future of bullet trains in India.

One worker encapsulated the excitement surrounding PM Modi's visit to the under-construction bullet train station, stating, “We do not seek recognition or rewards, we only wish for the country to progress ... Modi ji, may all your aspirations be realized, may our nation’s name soar high, the bullet train is our identity... Modi ji, this achievement is yours and ours.”

Remarkably, the MAHSR is among India’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives, covering roughly 508 km to facilitate seamless and swift connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra. The corridor will link major cities such as Sabarmati, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane, and Mumbai, marking a transformative leap in India’s transportation infrastructure.
