BJP Exudes Confidence Ahead of Delhi Elections, Critiques AAP's Decade of Governance

New Delhi, Jan 7 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has vigorously criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), claiming that the citizens of Delhi are poised to terminate the 'ten years of disaster' stemming from AAP's governance and entrust the BJP with leadership in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The current term of the Delhi Assembly concludes on February 23, and the Election Commission of India (ECI) is anticipated to announce the electoral schedule for the 70-member Assembly on Tuesday.

BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat remarked to IANS, 'Today marks a pivotal moment for Delhi where the electorate will choose the next government. After enduring a decade filled with deceit, corruption, and mismanagement by AAP, the citizens are ready to place their faith in the BJP for transparent governance and effective execution of public welfare initiatives.'

She underscored that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development vision, successfully realized in various states, would steer Delhi towards progress if the BJP is elected.

BJP candidate for the New Delhi Assembly seat, Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, congratulated the ECI and local administration for ensuring seamless election proceedings.

'I urge the residents of Delhi to engage in this democratic celebration. Every vote is invaluable and holds the potential to usher in good governance, mitigate pollution, cleanse the Yamuna, and reveal corruption within the liquor policy,' he stated.

In Kalkaji, BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri shared similar views, calling on voters to conclude the AAP's decade-long mismanagement.

'The time has arrived to eliminate the disaster in Delhi. Approximately 1.5 crore voters are set to cast their votes, and I am optimistic they will select BJP to guide the city towards a more promising future,' he declared while criticizing AAP for problems like contaminated drinking water, sewage issues during monsoons, and declining law and order.

On Monday, the ECI unveiled a revised voter list for Delhi, showing notable growth in the electorate. The voter count rose from 1,53,57,529 in October 2024 to 1,55,24,858 in December 2024, adding 1,67,329 new voters. The Commission also cautioned against submitting false documentation to acquire voter IDs.

The governing AAP has nominated candidates for all 70 Assembly seats, with party leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal contesting from the New Delhi seat. Chief Minister Atishi will run from Kalkaji.

The BJP has issued its initial list of 29 candidates. Parvesh Verma, the son of former Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, is vying for the New Delhi seat, challenging former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Ramesh Bidhuri is contending against Chief Minister Atishi in Kalkaji.

The Congress has declared candidates for 48 seats, with Sandeep Dikshit, the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, competing from the New Delhi seat.

Dikshit, a two-time MP, will face Kejriwal, who previously triumphed over Sheila Dikshit in 2013 and 2015. Alka Lamba has been declared as the Congress candidate for Kalkaji.
