Lucknow, June 28 (NationPress) The chief of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, vehemently criticized the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, asserting that it is attempting to illegally acquire land across every district of the state.

During a press briefing, Yadav accused the BJP of misusing bulldozers and government resources, with the complicity of party affiliates and local officials, to forcibly take over land.

He specifically highlighted Gorakhpur, the stronghold of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging discrepancies in land registration practices there.

"Residents of Gorakhpur should inquire about the names linked to the highest number of registries," Yadav remarked.

"If the facts about Gorakhpur are brought to light, the government will need to construct a custody corridor instead of facilitating any inheritance. Fair compensation for land and homes is not being provided. Locals are being coerced into signing consent documents, with police intimidation ensuring they receive inadequate compensation," Akhilesh Yadav claimed.

He further accused the government of deceiving the community, stating, “People have lost land in Ayodhya, faced similar threats in Banaras, and now Gorakhpur is next on the list. This isn’t merely about Gorakhpur’s land — such a mentality is apparent in Lucknow as well. Even their own advisor had to resign. I question who he was colluding with — those he partnered with have since fled the nation.”

Yadav also criticized the RSS for advocating the removal of the terms ‘Socialist’ and ‘Secular’ from the Constitution’s Preamble.

“Those who oppose reservation don’t openly express it. Instead, they attack the principles of secularism and socialism. Their opposition to reservation is concealed within these criticisms,” he stated.

Yadav accused the BJP and its ideological affiliates of attempting to polarize voters. “They aim to secure votes by inciting hatred,” he alleged.
