BJP Leader Affirms Commitment to Memorial for Dr. Manmohan Singh

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (NationPress) The NDA administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is devoted to creating a memorial in honor of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, according to Punjab BJP General Secretary Anil Sarin, who spoke to the media on Saturday.
The BJP has consistently been eager to pay homage to national icons such as the distinguished economist Dr. Manmohan Singh, who initiated significant economic reforms in the nation, he mentioned.
"The BJP transcends political boundaries, having awarded the Bharat Ratna to Congress figures like Madan Mohan Malviya, P.V. Narasimha Rao, and Pranab Mukherjee," Sarin stated.
He noted that the Central Cabinet had already resolved to construct a national memorial for Dr. Manmohan Singh during its session on December 27. He added that various formalities, including land acquisition, trust establishment, and other paperwork, are involved.
"Once the process begins, the completion of the memorial will occur as swiftly as possible," he clarified.
Sarin remarked that even though Union Home Minister Amit Shah communicated the memorial decision to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress party is incorrectly asserting that the Modi government lacks interest in the memorial's construction. He expressed disappointment that the Congress has shown disrespect toward Dr. Manmohan Singh, labeling it shameful that they engage in petty politics regarding the legacy of their own esteemed leader.
He emphasized that besides the Nehru and Gandhi families, Dr. Manmohan Singh is the only Prime Minister who served the nation for a consecutive decade.
"We are all aware of the disgrace faced by late P.V. Narasimha Rao, who served as Prime Minister for five years, inflicted by his own party. This is even mentioned in the autobiography of Pranab Mukherjee," he added.
The esteemed economist and former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at AIIMS in Delhi on Thursday, at the age of 92.
Dr. Singh is renowned for implementing reforms and pivotal changes to the economy during a challenging period.
His passing has been mourned by leaders from various political backgrounds, notable figures, and international leaders alike.
