BJP Leader Affirms Commitment to Establishing a Memorial for Manmohan Singh

Chandigarh, Dec 28 (NationPress) The NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is devoted to creating a memorial for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, announced Anil Sarin, General Secretary of the Punjab BJP, on Saturday.
The BJP has consistently prioritized honoring national heroes such as the esteemed economist Dr. Manmohan Singh, who initiated significant economic reforms in the nation, he informed the press.
"The BJP has always transcended political boundaries, having awarded the Bharat Ratna to Congress leaders like Madan Mohan Malviya, P.V. Narasimha Rao, and Pranab Mukherjee," Sarin stated.
He mentioned that the Central Cabinet reached a decision to build a national memorial in honor of Dr. Manmohan Singh during its meeting on December 27. He explained that acquiring the site for the memorial, transferring it, establishing a trust, and completing various other administrative tasks are necessary steps.
"Once the process is initiated, the memorial will be constructed as swiftly as possible," he clarified.
Sarin remarked that despite Union Home Minister Amit Shah informing Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge about the memorial plans, the Congress party is incorrectly asserting that the Modi government lacks interest in this project. It is shameful that Congress is engaging in trivial politics regarding the memory of its own revered leader.
He noted that besides the Nehru and Gandhi families, Dr. Manmohan Singh stands out as the only Prime Minister to have served the nation for a consecutive decade.
"We all recognize the disgrace faced by the late P.V. Narasimha Rao, who was Prime Minister for five years and suffered betrayal from his own party. This is even acknowledged in the autobiography of Pranab Mukherjee," he added.
Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, a distinguished economist, passed away at AIIMS in Delhi on Thursday at the age of 92.
Dr. Singh is celebrated for implementing reforms that transformed the country's economy during challenging times.
His passing has elicited condolences from leaders across political affiliations, prominent figures, and international leaders.
