PM Modi's Delhi Transformation Yatra Postponed Due to National Mourning for Dr. Singh

New Delhi, Dec 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Parivartan Yatra, initially scheduled for December 29 in Rohini, Delhi, has been postponed following the announcement of a seven-day national mourning to honor the legacy of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Dr. Singh, a renowned economist and India's 14th Prime Minister, passed away on Thursday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi at the age of 92. The mourning period will continue until January 1, 2025, leading to the rescheduling of multiple government events as a show of respect.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had intended to launch its campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections with the Prime Minister's rally in Rohini, which has now been moved to January 5, 2025.
As per reliable sources within the party, the Prime Minister is anticipated to announce significant developments regarding the national capital during this rally.
Moreover, another substantial rally is planned for January 3, 2025.
In the original itinerary, PM Modi was set to lay the foundation stone for a new Metro line in Rithala and address a public gathering at Japanese Park in Rohini on December 29.
However, the new dates for the foundation stone-laying ceremony have not yet been disclosed.
As of now, the Election Commission of India has not revealed the dates for the 70-member Delhi Assembly elections, although they are expected to occur in February next year, given that the current Assembly's term concludes on February 23, 2025.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, is vying for a third consecutive term following its significant wins in 2015 and 2020. The party had secured 67 seats in 2015 and 63 seats in 2020, establishing a strong presence in the Delhi Assembly.
