Is There a Conspiracy Against Priest Kantarar Rajeevar in the Sabarimala Gold Theft Case?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 20 (NationPress) BJP leader Sandeep Vachaspati has leveled accusations against certain political figures, alleging they have orchestrated a “conspiracy” aimed at targeting Kantarar Rajeevar, the tantri (priest) involved in the Sabarimala gold theft case.
Sandeep Vachaspati, who frequently translates speeches for prominent BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, made these claims in a recent social media post after the tantri was granted bail on Thursday.
He emphasized that the tantri’s arrest was unwarranted and driven by political motives.
“I had raised these concerns after visiting the tantri’s residence. At that time, there was a deliberate effort to tarnish my reputation,” he stated.
He asserted that while Devaswom ministers and officials were implicated in the Sabarimala gold robbery, the priest merely followed the directives of the Devaswom Board and should not have been arrested.
On Thursday, the court, while granting bail to the tantri, noted that there was no evidence to support the allegations against him.
The BJP leader accused state ministers Saji Cherian from Chengannur and Devaswom Minister V.N. Vasavan, along with other CPI-M leaders, of distracting from the actual culprits by wrongfully implicating the tantri.
Sandeep Vachaspati also pointed out that delays in filing charges against those who eventually received bail were part of a strategy to protect the true offenders.
The tantri’s bail has been celebrated by Sandeep Vachaspati, who termed it a legal vindication and a setback for those seeking to harm the community and discredit esteemed Acharyas.
“The conspiracy to demean millions of Ayyappa devotees has been rejected by the court,” he expressed, asserting that the BJP would persist in its efforts to bring justice to the final person responsible for the theft of Ayyappa’s wealth, as well as the political figures who facilitated it.
Sandeep Vachaspati's remarks underline the BJP’s ongoing commitment to this case, intertwining political accountability with the quest for justice.
Currently, among the 13 individuals arrested, six have been granted bail.
