Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday, 22 September declared that within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 'an organisational position is not merely a designation but a responsibility towards public service and the organisation.' Saini was addressing a programme in Panchkula to mark the assumption of office by Sunil Sen as state President of the BJP's Backward Classes Morcha (OBC Morcha).

Key Remarks by CM Saini

Saini underscored that the BJP's 46-year journey has been shaped by the dedication of millions of party workers committed to nation-building. He drew a direct ideological lineage from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arguing that the spirit of serving the nation has been a continuous thread through the party's history.

The Chief Minister urged party workers to carry the message of PM Modi's 25 years of public service to the people, noting that October 7 would mark the completion of that milestone spanning Modi's tenures as Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister. He described Modi's political career as 'a significant chapter of public life, marked by service, good governance and commitment to nation-building.'

Directions to the OBC Morcha

Saini called on the newly constituted OBC Morcha under Sen's leadership to focus on grassroots outreach — reaching 'the last person in society' — and to strengthen the party's presence at the booth level. He also called on party workers to participate actively in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, an ongoing campaign to be observed until October 17.

'It is the collective responsibility of the organisation and the government to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes and development initiatives reach the person standing at the last mile,' Saini said.

State BJP Chief Archana Gupta's Address

The programme was presided over by BJP Haryana state chief Archana Gupta, who noted that since both PM Modi and CM Saini hail from the OBC community, the community's organisational role carries greater significance. She invoked the resolve of 'Jahan Kam, Wahan Hum' — roughly translated as 'where there is a gap, we shall be there' — as the guiding principle for the Morcha's expansion.

Gupta called for strengthening the organisation in every Assembly constituency, and urged greater participation from OBC community workers alongside panchs, sarpanchs, councillors and other public representatives, with outreach extending to the booth level.
