Chandigarh, Aug 17 (NationPress) The Punjab BJP conducted a ‘Kisan Mazdoor Fateh Rally’ in Rajpura town on Sunday, marking the repeal of the Aam Aadmi Party’s anti-farmer land pooling policy.
Thousands of farmers and party supporters participated in the rally, highlighting the BJP's increasing influence in rural Punjab and its steadfast commitment to defending the rights of the agricultural community.
State BJP President Sunil Jakhar launched a fierce critique of AAP, seeking clarification on the origin of the disputed land pooling policy.
He expressed disbelief that outsiders were managing the Punjab government.
It was either Arvind Kejriwal or Manish Sisodia who conceptualized the policy, while the Chief Secretary of Punjab was appointed as the committee chair.
“Neither the Chief Minister nor his Cabinet was involved, yet Punjabis are bearing the consequences.” He further remarked that Kejriwal was acting as a proxy Chief Minister for Punjab, while it was Bhagwant Mann whom the people had elected.
“I extend my gratitude to all farmers and BJP workers; your relentless efforts and pressure have led to the cancellation of this detrimental and anti-farmer policy,” he stated.
The working President of Punjab, Ashwani Sharma, emphasized that the BJP's persistent struggle at the block and tehsil levels compelled the government to retract its anti-farmer stance.
He added, “AAP’s time has come to an end. The citizens of Punjab seek the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for genuine change. Even promises like MSP on 24 crops by AAP remain unfulfilled. Punjab should take note of neighboring Haryana, governed by the BJP, which provides MSP to farmers for all vegetables and fruits. Today, various groups, including roadway workers, teachers, and doctors, are protesting.” BJP national General Secretary Tarun Chugh described the reversal of the policy as a “victory for Punjabiyat.”
He criticized AAP for transforming Punjab into an “ATM” to fund its Delhi-centric politics.
“Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has diminished himself to a puppet Chief Minister, obeying the commands of leaders like Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, both of whom have faced imprisonment,” he said.
Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu hailed the cancellation of the land pooling policy as a historic achievement for Punjab’s farmers.
“This is not merely a political triumph but a battle for our land, marking a victory for every farmer. Only the BJP can liberate Punjab from escalating debt and provide genuine relief through pro-people welfare initiatives and development-focused governance,” he added.
Former Union Minister Preneet Kaur expressed gratitude to farmers and BJP workers for their backing, stating, “The turnout witnessed today illustrates the strength of the BJP’s family in Punjab. We have always stood by our people, and this rally signifies that the BJP is on the road to success in the 2027 Assembly elections. This is a genuine win for our farmers and Punjab.”
The ‘Kisan Mazdoor Fateh Rally’ conveyed a strong message that farmers will not permit their land and rights to be compromised under AAP.
