Lucknow, Dec 25 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that there have been efforts to diminish the significance of national legends such as Babasaheb Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel following India's Independence. He emphasized that it is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government that has prioritized the revival of their lasting contributions, ensuring they receive their due recognition.
In his critique of dynastic politics, particularly aimed at the Gandhi family, PM Modi remarked that the BJP is dedicated to honoring every contributor to India’s heritage.
While inaugurating the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, a significant national memorial celebrating the legacies of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, and Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, the Prime Minister expressed his concerns over attempts to downplay Sardar Patel's role in uniting the nation.
“The BJP is the one that has restored Sardar Patel's dignity by constructing the tallest statue of him in Ekta Nagar. We also observe National Unity Day every year on October 31,” PM Modi highlighted.
He pointed out that the tribal community has long been denied the respect it deserves, but the BJP has taken steps to honor them, including the construction of a grand memorial for Lord Birsa Munda.
“The Shaheed Narayan Singh Tribal Museum in Chhattisgarh has recently been completed, and in Uttar Pradesh, a memorial for Maharaja Suheldev was established under the BJP government. Now, the meeting place of Nishadraj and Lord Shri Ram has finally received the recognition it deserves,” PM Modi asserted.
He noted that the politics of ‘parivarvad’ thrives on overshadowing the contributions of others to promote a single family's narrative.
PM Modi recounted the BJP's initiatives to honor historical figures, including Babasaheb Ambedkar and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
“Today, a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose stands proudly at Delhi's Kartavya Path. The Andaman Islands, where he raised the flag, have been renamed in his honor,” he added.
In a veiled reference to the Congress and Samajwadi Party, PM Modi condemned efforts to undermine Dr. BR Ambedkar's contributions, stating that the BJP ensures his legacy is both honored and celebrated.
