New Delhi, Oct 2 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a strong critique against Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi regarding his statements made during his trip to Colombia. They accuse him of tarnishing India's image on foreign land while expressing undue admiration for China.
During a press conference, senior BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad expressed his disappointment that instead of sending festive greetings to the nation on Vijayadashami, Rahul Gandhi opted to criticize India internationally.
“Rahul Gandhi is currently abroad. It would have been more appropriate for him to convey his regards to the citizens of India on the occasion of Vijayadashami. Instead, he has chosen to voice criticisms against the nation,” Prasad stated.
He further asserted that Gandhi has cultivated a pattern of undermining India and its democratic values.
Referring to Gandhi’s comments made in Bogotá, Prasad remarked: “He alleged that democracy is nonexistent in India and that citizens lack freedom of speech. Such claims are utterly unfounded. By making such statements abroad, he risks losing the confidence of the Indian populace and jeopardizing his political prospects.”
Prasad condemned Gandhi's continuous unfounded accusations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi while enjoying the liberty to critique the BJP domestically. “Rahul Gandhi openly criticizes PM Modi without hesitation. He claims there is no freedom of speech, yet he is the one who disparages the BJP and the Prime Minister the most,” he asserted.
Addressing Gandhi’s alleged remarks about China, Prasad charged: “You now express admiration for China, claiming that India cannot emerge as a global power while China can. Your fondness for China is unmistakable, and you consistently find ways to demean India.”
Highlighting India's surging global presence, Prasad proclaimed: “India is currently the world's fourth-largest economy and is on the trajectory to become the third. We vehemently condemn Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing efforts to diminish India's stature on the global stage.”
