Gujarat BJP President Jagdish Vishwakarma on Thursday, April 23, made a strong statement about political violence, declaring that BJP workers in West Bengal and Kerala had endured atrocities and even killings at the hands of political opponents, yet continued to remain steadfast in their commitment to building the party's organisational strength across those states.

Vishwakarma Addresses Vikas Sankalp Sabha in Banaskantha

Vishwakarma made these remarks while addressing a "Vikas Sankalp Sabha" held in Palanpur, Banaskantha district, organised ahead of the upcoming local body elections in Gujarat. The event drew significant attendance from party workers and local leaders across the district.

Highlighting the dedication of BJP cadres, Vishwakarma said, "BJP workers remain among the public for 365 days and are continuously engaged in public service, whereas opposition leaders are visible only during elections." He emphasised that this consistent grassroots engagement was the party's core strength.

Sharp Attack on Congress Over Organisational Weakness

Turning his attention to the Indian National Congress, Vishwakarma launched a pointed critique, alleging that the party had completely lost public trust due to deep-rooted organisational failures. "Congress lacks policy, intent and leadership, and therefore citizens as well as Congress workers themselves have lost faith in the party," he alleged.

He further asserted that both the Central Government and the Gujarat state government under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remained firmly committed to welfare-oriented governance and inclusive development.

Major Relief for Farmers: Rs 25,000 Crore Package Highlighted

On the subject of agricultural welfare, Vishwakarma highlighted a significant Rs 10,000 crore relief package announced for farmers affected by unseasonal rains, along with Rs 15,000 crore worth of crop procurement at minimum support prices. He noted that these payments were being directly transferred into farmers' bank accounts, reflecting the state government's continued support for the agricultural community.

This direct benefit transfer model, he said, ensured transparency and eliminated middlemen from the relief distribution process.

Zero Tolerance on Terrorism, Cultural Heritage Under Modi

On national security, the Gujarat BJP chief stated that the approach towards terrorism had fundamentally changed under the BJP-led government. "Earlier governments had responded to terror attacks only with statements, whereas the current administration has undertaken decisive action. Zero tolerance towards terrorism is the policy of the BJP," he said, referencing surgical strikes and air strikes as examples of this resolve.

Vishwakarma also highlighted cultural and religious heritage initiatives led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and development projects at major pilgrimage sites such as Kashi, Ujjain, Somnath, Pavagadh, Ambaji, and Dwarka.
