New Delhi, April 26 (NationPress) In response to Pakistan's futile threats regarding India's decision to halt the Indus Waters Treaty after the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh emphasized that the nation harboring terrorists will face severe repercussions without exception.
In an interview with IANS on Saturday, Chugh reiterated that the administration under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unequivocally stated that any nation that endorses terrorism will encounter harsh consequences. "Not a single drop of water will be allocated," he asserted.
He remarked that treaties possess significance only when trust prevails.
"A country that consistently betrays trust needs to be taught a lesson. It is vital to hold accountable both the terrorists and their supporters. The entire nation is united in demanding decisive action against the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack."
Regarding the directive from Union Home Minister Amit Shah instructing all states to monitor and repatriate all Pakistani nationals, Chugh described it as the commencement of stringent measures under the national security agenda.
"The message is unequivocal: national interest is paramount, and Indian territory will never serve as a sanctuary for terrorism or its sympathizers in any guise."
Discussing the violence in Murshidabad linked to the Waqf Act, Chugh asserted that the assault on Hindus was a premeditated scheme.
"This is taking place due to the West Bengal government's complicity, and their silence is indicative of it. Disturbing accounts of abuses against women and children are surfacing. Mamata Banerjee has granted criminals a free pass under the guise of appeasement politics. Atrocities against Hindus are deeply regrettable," he stated.
In response to the recent admonition from the Supreme Court directed at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding his comments on Savarkar, the BJP leader remarked that Gandhi, along with the Congress and the INDIA alliance, is attempting to tarnish the legacy of freedom fighters and their families who sacrificed everything for the nation.
"Once again, the Supreme Court has reminded Rahul Gandhi of historical realities. Despite continuous reprimands, he shows no regret. This reflects not just political obstinacy, but also intellectual emptiness," Chugh remarked.
"After facing repeated electoral defeats, Rahul Gandhi has now been chastised by the Supreme Court. The Congress must decide whether it wishes to operate as a political entity or merely as a venue for disrespecting the country’s freedom fighters."
