Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday, 18 August told students in Visakhapatnam that India's youth are the country's most powerful force, and that their positive outlook, energy, and commitment to nation-building are a source of national pride. Nabin was addressing a 'Yuva Samvad' programme organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha for students pursuing higher education in the city.

Key Message: Creation Over Criticism

Nabin drew a sharp distinction between criticism and creation, arguing that dismantling an existing system is far easier than building something new. He urged the assembled students to 'choose creation over destruction, solutions over criticism, and positive thinking over despair.' He stressed that the youth of today must lay the foundation of the India of 2047, and that their success should become a matter of pride not only for their families but for Andhra Pradesh and the nation as a whole.

He also underlined the importance of giving young people direct exposure to governance through internships, leadership programmes, and opportunities to work alongside local public representatives and legislators. 'Participation in policymaking means becoming a part of the decision-making process,' he said.

Indian Youth Making a Global Mark

The BJP president noted a significant shift in the aspirations of Indian youth. Where earlier generations went abroad primarily in search of better opportunities, today's young Indians are capable of building institutions of global standing and contributing to cutting-edge research and innovation at home. He highlighted the rapid expansion of India's startup ecosystem, pointing out that young entrepreneurs are increasingly moving from being job seekers to becoming job creators.

Nabin identified emerging sectors — including manufacturing, mobile phone production, defence equipment, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data centres — as areas offering new opportunities. He also called on Indian professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs living abroad to consider returning and partnering in India's development journey.

AI Set to Transform Education

On the role of technology in education, Nabin said Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to bring significant changes to the sector in the coming years. He said AI could enable personalised learning tailored to the capabilities, requirements, and pace of individual students. Students preparing for competitive examinations such as the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) should learn to use technology effectively, he added, noting that AI-based tools in education are expected to become increasingly mainstream.

Youth Urged to Fact-Check Social Media

Nabin cautioned students against the uncritical consumption of social media content, warning that morphed images, misinformation, and AI-generated fake content are spreading rapidly online. He urged young people to develop the habit of verifying information before accepting or sharing it. At the same time, he said social media could become a powerful instrument for positive social change if used to disseminate constructive information and promote ideas beneficial to society.

He also reminded students to remain conscious of their duties and responsibilities towards the country alongside their rights. The programme concluded with an informal interaction between Nabin and the students. How the BJP translates this youth outreach into a sustained policy agenda — particularly on internships in governance and AI in education — will be closely watched ahead of the Andhra Pradesh political cycle.
