Guwahati, Feb 27 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will unveil a comprehensive performance report card highlighting its achievements over the past decade during the upcoming 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra'. This initiative is designed to connect with the public ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections, with the statewide launch scheduled for Saturday.

While addressing the media, CM Sarma emphasized that the yatra aims to communicate the successes of the state government directly to the citizens.

"The Jan Ashirwad Yatra serves as a platform to showcase our accomplishments in serving the public over the last ten years," he stated, noting that this outreach effort would also promote accountability.

The Chief Minister mentioned that BJP leaders would also express their apologies to the public for any unfinished projects, stating, "During this yatra, we will seek forgiveness for the tasks we were unable to complete."

As part of this campaign, the BJP released three new songs on Friday, developed under the supervision of Pabitra Margherita, the Minister of State for External Affairs, aimed at fostering an emotional connection with the people throughout the yatra.

In response to claims that the BJP's candidate selection is based on performance report cards, CM Sarma clarified, "The BJP does not operate on report cards. The primary consideration is which candidate has the highest chance of victory."

The Chief Minister also spoke on recent violent incidents, claiming that BJP workers faced attacks by unidentified individuals while delivering notices to those occupying land in tribal areas. "Despite eviction efforts covering approximately 1.5 lakh bighas, some individuals continue to resist," he remarked.

Defending the BJP's policies, CM Sarma asserted that the state’s social and cultural fabric would be jeopardized without the BJP's governance. "Without a BJP government, the teachings of Gurujana Sankardeva would go unheeded," he claimed.

The 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' is anticipated to traverse multiple districts in Assam, involving senior BJP leaders and workers as they engage directly with the electorate in anticipation of the upcoming Assembly elections.
