Guwahati, February 28 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially launched its election campaign in Assam with the 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' on Saturday, targeting outreach to over one lakh citizens daily throughout the state.

Initiated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the historic Gupteshwar Temple in Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur district, this initiative aims to foster direct connections with voters while showcasing the government's developmental efforts ahead of the Assembly elections.

During the event, Sarma emphasized that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra would disseminate the BJP's messages concerning development, effective governance, and welfare schemes across all regions of Assam.

He encouraged party members to enhance their grassroots engagement throughout the campaign.

The inaugural day of the yatra drew a tremendous public response, with large gatherings spotted at various locations along the route.

Senior BJP leaders, ministers, and legislators are slated to join the yatra, which will traverse through several districts over the next few weeks.

As stated by the BJP Assam Pradesh unit, the 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' is instrumental in the party's election strategy, focusing on direct voter interaction, gathering feedback, and mobilizing party workers at the grassroots level. This campaign will span multiple districts and conclude on March 9.

BJP MP Pradan Baruah highlighted that the primary goal of the Jan Ashirwad Yatra is to provide Chief Minister Sarma with the platform to engage directly with the populace and seek their blessings ahead of the imminent elections.

Baruah described the outreach initiative as a means to fortify grassroots connections and communicate the BJP's vision for the future of Assam.

He noted that several prominent national leaders, along with the BJP's state leadership, will accompany the Chief Minister during different phases of the yatra across various constituencies.

Baruah asserted that the Jan Ashirwad Yatra would also serve as a showcase of the developmental accomplishments achieved by the BJP-led government over the past decade.

Particular focus will be given to initiatives launched in the last five years under Sarma's guidance.

"This journey will inform people comprehensively about our government's achievements. The Chief Minister and party leaders will engage directly with citizens, detailing various welfare initiatives, infrastructure projects, and policy measures implemented for the state's advancement," Baruah stated.

He emphasized the BJP's commitment to ensuring the success of the yatra, describing it as a crucial aspect of the party's political outreach leading up to the elections.

Baruah concluded by mentioning that insights gained from the public during the yatra would aid the party in refining its future strategies.
