Ahmedabad, Sep 29 (NationPress) Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat on Monday encouraged students at the Adani Vidya Mandir (AVM) to adopt hard work, discipline, and a vices-free lifestyle as the genuine route to success, emphasizing the importance of simplicity and responsibility in their lives.
During his address at the AVM campus, the Governor was warmly received by Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, and Shilin Adani, Trustee.
“Children who commit to hard work from an early age, stay away from vices, and aspire to progress are unstoppable. For them, new opportunities are always within reach,” the Governor conveyed to the eager students.
He pointed out that overcoming a difficult background should never deter those who choose to work diligently, referencing the inspiring journeys of legendary figures like former US President Abraham Lincoln and late former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who triumphed over adversity to make a significant impact.
The Governor urged the students to embrace a life of simplicity and responsibility, promoting healthy eating, honesty, and choices that lead away from doubt, shame, or fear.
He praised AVM’s distinctive model of providing free, values-centered education, commending the Adani Foundation for enabling underprivileged children to access prestigious institutions, including IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS.
The Governor’s motivational remarks resonated deeply with the AVM community, reinforcing the belief that education grounded in values cultivates leaders capable of shaping the nation’s future.
This visit was part of AVM’s ‘Changemaker Series’, which regularly features distinguished personalities to inspire students with their personal stories.
In recent years, the school has welcomed influential figures such as Nischal Narayana (Mathematics Genius, India’s Youngest CA, June 2024), John Abraham (Actor, Producer & Social Worker, April 2024), Nilesh Desai (Director – SAC/ISRO, July 2023), Cynthia McCaffrey (Country Head, UNICEF, July 2023), and Safin Hasan (India’s Youngest IPS Officer, December 2022).
Founded in 2008, AVM offers free, comprehensive education—covering tuition, books, uniforms, meals, extracurricular activities, and transportation—to first-generation learners.
It serves as a beacon of hope, merging academic excellence with ethics, values, discipline, and social responsibility. The Adani Foundation operates four such Adani Vidya Mandir schools—in Ahmedabad and Bhadreshwar, Gujarat, Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, and Surguja, Chhattisgarh.
Since 1996, the Adani Foundation, the social welfare and development division of the Adani Group, has been proactive and deeply committed to implementing strategic social investments for sustainable results throughout India.
The foundation is currently active in 7,071 villages across 22 states, positively influencing 9.6 million lives.
