Broad Daylight Heist of ₹14 Lakh Shocks Ranchi Community

Ranchi, Dec 26 (NationPress) In a stunning display of audacity, two motorcycle-riding thieves executed a daylight robbery, making off with ₹14 lakh from an employee of a petrol station in the Kathitand region of Ranchi, which falls under the Ratu police station's purview.
The victim was en route to deposit the cash at a local State Bank of India when the robbery took place.
This alarming incident, occurring in a bustling marketplace, has left the community deeply concerned about the escalating crime rate in the area.
The petrol pump employee, representing the Reliance Petrol Pump in Ratu, was carrying the daily cash intake when he was ambushed by the two assailants on a bike. They forcefully grabbed the money bag and made their escape.
In spite of the crowded setting, the brazen act went unnoticed, leaving onlookers in disbelief.
The entire episode was recorded by CCTV cameras.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, a team from Ratu police station quickly arrived at the scene. They have started scrutinizing the CCTV footage from the petrol station and adjacent areas to pinpoint the offenders.
The victim, who was handling the cash, is also undergoing questioning for additional information.
Authorities have a theory that the assailants may have been observing the employee's pattern, suggesting premeditation.
An FIR has been lodged, and a city-wide search operation is currently in progress at major crossroads to capture the perpetrators.
Police are also probing potential connections between this occurrence and a series of recent thefts in the area.
This robbery adds to a troubling trend of crime in Ranchi and its vicinity recently.
Just a day prior, on December 25, valuables worth ₹14 lakh were stolen from a jeweler's store in the Pandra Outpost area.
Earlier on December 2, a businessman named Shaligram Mandal was murdered during a robbery attempt in Teen Pahad, Sahibganj district. The culprits, who shot him around 10 a.m., escaped with ₹11 lakh he was carrying for bank deposit.
The sheer boldness of these criminal acts, particularly during daylight hours and in populated areas, has sparked serious concerns regarding the law and order situation in Ranchi.
