Key Takeaways
Patna, Dec 9 (NationPress) In a brazen act of robbery in broad daylight, unidentified individuals on motorcycles snatched Rs 14 lakh from a businessman at Gandhi Chowk, the most bustling area under Hariharnath OP in Vaishali district, on Tuesday.
This well-orchestrated crime has instilled fear among local residents.
The victim has been identified as Subodh Kumar Singh, residing in Siddhnath Chowk.
According to police reports, Singh had withdrawn Rs 14 lakh from the State Bank of India around 3:52 p.m. and was en route to Registry Market when he became a target.
The culprits employed a deceptive ruse to ensnare him.
Near Gandhi Chowk, a young man stopped Subodh, falsely alleging that currency notes were falling from his motorcycle. As Subodh dismounted to retrieve the scattered cash, another young man approached, claiming the money was his.
In the midst of this confusion, two additional criminals on a Pulsar motorcycle swooped in, snatching the bag containing Rs 14 lakh from Subodh’s bike and fleeing towards Sonepur Adamsite.
This incident, occurring in the heart of a bustling market, triggered immediate chaos.
Upon receiving the alert, Additional SHO Prince Raj and Sonepur SDPO Pritish Kumar promptly arrived at the scene.
The police swiftly examined CCTV footage from both the bank and Gandhi Chowk.
The entire incident, including the criminals’ coordinated tactics, was captured on video, providing crucial evidence.
Sonepur SDPO Pritish Kumar confirmed that the suspects have been identified via CCTV surveillance.
“Multiple police teams are conducting raids in the direction the criminals escaped,” he stated.
He assured that all suspects will be apprehended soon and that stringent actions will be taken against them as per the law.
“An FIR has been lodged following the written complaint submitted by the victim at the Sonepur police station against the unidentified offenders,” he added.
Earlier, on December 5, motorcycle-borne criminals had robbed a significant amount from an oil refinery businessman in broad daylight in the Beur police station area of Patna.
