Patna, July 11 (NationPress) The unrestrained crime wave in Bihar persists, with the latest incident occurring in Vaishali district. On Friday afternoon, criminals brazenly stole jewellery valued at Rs 20 lakh from a shop, instilling fear within the community.
The robbery unfolded at the Goraul market, situated near the Goraul police station, prompting serious concerns regarding local safety measures.
Reports indicate that shop proprietor Arun Kumar Shah was present when approximately six armed robbers on two motorcycles entered the establishment. They threatened him and his customers with weapons.
“The robbers disguised themselves as customers, entered the shop, and swiftly held everyone—including employees and myself—at gunpoint. They demanded that we forcibly open the shelves, allowing them to seize gold and silver jewellery on display. The entire incident took place in mere minutes before they escaped,” Shah recounted.
This alarming event has left the community in chaos.
In the aftermath, local shopkeepers and residents voiced their fears and frustrations about the declining law and order situation. In protest, they closed their shops and called for the immediate arrest of the culprits.
Upon receiving the report, the Goraul police station team promptly arrived and commenced an investigation.

The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding locations to identify the suspects; however, no arrests have been made thus far.
