Charkhi Dadri (Haryana), May 2 (NationPress) In a bold midnight robbery, unidentified criminals infiltrated the Manappuram Gold Loan Bank branch situated at Parshuram Chowk in Charkhi Dadri on Thursday night, making off with approximately 7 kg of gold and ₹14 lakh in cash, officials reported on Friday.
The theft was discovered early Friday morning when the bank’s security guard, Shiva, arrived for duty and noticed the bank’s shutter lock was damaged.
He promptly notified the branch's senior manager, Prayas Khatri, who then alerted the police.
Shortly after, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dheeraj Kumar, accompanied by officials from the City Police Station, CIA (Crime Investigation Agency), and the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) team, reached the location to initiate an investigation.
Forensic specialists collected evidence from the scene, while police teams commenced reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras to track down the suspects.
Officials stated that the burglars first tampered with the main door lock to enter, then proceeded to the bank’s locker, from which they absconded with the gold items and cash.
The method of the break-in indicates that the thieves likely possessed prior knowledge of the bank's layout and security measures.
Security in-charge Satbir Singh Jangra confirmed that the branch employs five staff members, including two managers, two employees, and a security guard.
Operational since 2019, the branch manages daily transactions for thousands of customers.
“The forensic team has collected critical evidence. We are also analyzing CCTV footage from nearby businesses,” stated Investigation Officer Kuldeep.
“Only after a comprehensive investigation will we ascertain the precise sequence of events and identify the perpetrators,” he added.
This audacious heist has sent shockwaves through the local business community and raised concerns regarding security protocols at financial institutions in the region. Police have assured that all aspects are being investigated and that arrests will be made promptly.
