Hyderabad, April 16 (NationPress) The working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. T. Rama Rao, expressed his support on Wednesday for the Supreme Court’s decision to reinstate the Kancha Gachibowli forest in Hyderabad.

He hailed the court’s mandate directing the Chief Wildlife Warden to safeguard the wildlife in the area as a significant triumph for environmental advocates and all those who campaigned for the conservation of Kancha Gachibowli. He called upon the Revanth Reddy government to cease its reckless behavior.

Popularly known as KTR, the BRS leader conveyed his deep appreciation to all who opposed the Congress government’s ‘oppressive’ measures and endeavored to protect the trees and wildlife in Kancha Gachibowli, especially the students and faculty of Hyderabad Central University. He attributed their relentless efforts to the preservation of the 400-acre forest.

KTR also expressed his satisfaction regarding the Supreme Court’s recognition of the Central Empowered Committee’s findings that indicated a potential financial fraud of Rs 10,000 crore concerning the mortgage dealings of the 400-acre Kancha Gachibowli forest.

He stated that the Supreme Court’s directives have substantiated BRS' claims that forest land in Kancha Gachibowli was illegally pledged to a private entity.

KTR urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to act with accountability, stressing that the Congress government’s attempts to misuse its authority to harm the environment and evade responsibility will not succeed any longer.

The former minister mentioned that the Supreme Court’s ruling has validated BRS’ allegations that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy sought to misappropriate Telangana’s resources valued at Rs 10,000 crore. He noted that this ruling further portrays Revanth Reddy as a significant adversary to the people, forests, and wildlife of Telangana.

KTR conveyed his hope that the apex court’s orders would greatly enhance environmental conservation initiatives not only in Hyderabad but throughout Telangana.

In the meantime, BRS social media representatives Krishank Manne and Konatham Dileep, who faced police action for supposedly sharing AI-generated videos regarding Kancha Gachibowli land, have welcomed the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Krishank took to X, questioning whether Revanth Reddy would lodge false cases against the Supreme Court. He referred to the Supreme Court’s remark regarding their observation of dead deer following the tree removals.

Dileep remarked that the Supreme Court presented factual information. “Attention Revanth Reddy, his cabinet ministers, and some advisors who are misleading everyone by claiming that there are no animals in Kancha Gachibowli and that all animals depicted in photos and videos are AI-generated! They have filed numerous cases against students and activists who challenged this senseless deforestation,” he posted.
