Hyderabad, April 3 (NationPress) If Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regains power in Telangana, it plans to recover 400 acres of land owned by Hyderabad Central University (HCU) in Kancha Gachibowli and convert it into an eco-park, as announced by party working president K. T. Rama Rao on Thursday.

During a press conference, he stated that the eco-park would serve as a gift to HCU students and the residents of Hyderabad.

KTR criticized the Congress government for its intentions to exploit the land for real estate purposes.

Accusing Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of commodifying the land, KTR warned potential buyers that anyone hoping to profit from it would incur significant losses once BRS regains authority.

"We shall reclaim every inch of that land and create a magnificent eco-park, similar to Central Park in Manhattan, for the betterment of Hyderabad," he asserted.

KTR, widely known as the BRS leader, supported what he termed a remarkable struggle by HCU students against the state government's alleged encroachments on university land. He compared their efforts to historical student movements at Osmania, Kakatiya, and Satavahana universities during the Telangana statehood movement.

He condemned the Congress government for not engaging in discussions with the students, who have been protesting for the past ten days. He cautioned that if the government does not change its position, BRS would rally thousands for a march to HCU.

In a harsh critique of Chief Minister Reddy, KTR labeled him a "real estate broker" masquerading as a leader.

"He (Revanth Reddy) claims to work 18 hours a day, but he should at least spend ten minutes contemplating like a human being, considering the future of coming generations, rather than acting like a broker," KTR remarked.

The BRS leader also criticized Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for dismissing wildlife concerns on the HCU campus, ridiculing his assertion that images of animals were merely AI-generated.

KTR accused the Congress government of taking advantage of court holidays to execute "destructive activities" on the HCU campus, such as tree felling and harming local wildlife.

"Why are they deploying bulldozers over the people on weekends? Does the government lack sense or shame, despite directives from the High Court and Supreme Court?" he questioned.

Labeling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a "missing leader" and a "political tourist," KTR challenged him to visit HCU and clarify his party's actions to the students.

KTR expressed outrage at the government for destroying the only green space in West Hyderabad.

"The peacocks and animals there are lamenting as their habitats are devastated. Does this not concern anyone in the government?" he inquired.

KTR urged citizens to refrain from purchasing the HCU land, assuring that BRS will reclaim it upon returning to power.

"We fought in the courts during our time to secure this land for the people of Telangana, not to sell it for real estate. Those who buy it now will regret it later," he warned.

HCU remained tense on Thursday as student groups continued to protest against the proposed auction of 400 acres of land adjacent to the campus.
