New Delhi, Oct 12 (NationPress) Vigilant personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) have successfully intercepted several attempts at cross-border smuggling, recovering five drones loaded with heroin and a pistol along the Amritsar and Tarn Taran regions of the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, an official reported on Sunday.
A statement indicated that following precise intelligence, BSF personnel retrieved a total of five drones from areas surrounding Naushera Dhalla, Havelian, Rajatal, and Dal villages. The recoveries comprised three packets of heroin weighing over 2.29 kgs alongside one pistol equipped with a magazine.
These recent recoveries underscore the BSF’s operational prowess, alertness, and unwavering dedication to protecting the nation's borders from Pakistan-based narco-drone activities, according to an official.
Previously, a gold smuggler was captured by the BSF at the India-Bangladesh border, with the precious metal being turned over to the relevant authorities, officials noted on Sunday.
The troops of the 32 Battalion from the South Bengal Frontier of the BSF, stationed at the Horandipur Border Outpost on the India-Bangladesh international border in West Bengal, achieved a notable success by apprehending an Indian smuggler in the act, stated the BSF.

The individual was quickly surrounded and apprehended. A search uncovered a plastic packet containing 20 gold biscuits. The smuggler was taken into custody on the spot and escorted to the Horandipur BOP for further investigation.
