Jaipur, May 23 (NationPress) Officials from the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully intercepted a drone from Pakistan in the vicinity of the international border in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar on Friday, seizing heroin valued at Rs 5 crore.
According to Gaurav Yadav, SP of Ganganagar, the drone was detected in a field situated between Kailash Post and Sherpura Post in Anupgarh.
Local villagers observed the suspicious drone and promptly notified the police.
BSF personnel quickly arrived at the scene and retrieved a yellow packet containing one kilogram of heroin, which was attached to the drone.
"The package, believed to have originated from Pakistan, was located near the barbed-wire fencing along the international border. The estimated market value of the heroin is Rs 5 crore," Yadav stated.
He further informed IANS that "The packet appears to be about one month old; however, we will conduct a detailed investigation to gather more information."
As of the time of this report, BSF officials were in the process of transferring the consignment to the police.
The BSF has initiated an extensive search operation along the border, with all security agencies on heightened alert to thwart any further attempts. This incident adds to a series of drug smuggling attempts recorded from across the border in 2025.
