BSF Intercepts Four Drones and Over 1 Kg of Heroin Along Punjab Border

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) BSF personnel, leveraging advanced technical countermeasures and dependable intelligence, effectively intercepted four Pakistani drones along with two shipments of heroin in a single day at the Punjab border, according to an official report on Monday.
Among the drones recovered were two DJI AIR 3S and two DJI Mavic 3 Classic models, discovered in agricultural fields in Tarn Taran and Amritsar districts. In addition to the drones, two heroin shipments weighing 541 grams and 750 grams were also seized,” the statement indicated.
The official statement further highlighted that “the BSF's persistent efforts, with support from the Punjab Police, have once again thwarted the malicious plans of cross-border drug syndicates, illustrating their strong commitment to combating the drug crisis and ensuring border security against smuggling operations.”
The BSF operates as a central armed police force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, tasked with safeguarding the country's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings on the occasion of the BSF Raising Day, commending their vigilance and courage, which significantly contribute to the nation’s safety and security.
The Border Security Force is commemorating its 60th Raising Day, marking its establishment in 1965.
The Prime Minister praised their dedication and service, emphasizing the BSF’s critical role as a frontline defense in his message.
PM Modi expressed on X, “Warm wishes to the Border Security Force on their Raising Day! The BSF stands as a vital line of defense, embodying courage, dedication, and outstanding service. Their vigilance and bravery are crucial for our nation’s safety and security.”
While celebrating this milestone, the BSF reaffirmed its dedication to its motto. “As #BSFturns60 today, we, the Seema Prahari, proudly rededicate ourselves to the service of our Nation. We remain steadfast in our commitment to uphold our motto.”
On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked that the soldiers consistently demonstrate their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the nation.
HM Shah wrote on X, “The soldiers of the @BSF_India have defended the honor and aspirations of Bharat with unwavering determination, never hesitating to lay down their lives for it. Their bravery and sacrifices are an enduring source of inspiration that has motivated generations to ensure our nation’s continued prosperity. My solemn tribute to the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.”
Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment, also expressed her heartfelt greetings to the valiant personnel of the BSF.
She stated on X, “...Your unwavering bravery and sacrifices protect Bharat's honor and inspire generations to serve selflessly. A heartfelt salute to the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice. Jai Hind.”
The BSF is recognized as the world's largest border-guarding force, securing a monumental 6,386.36 km of International Borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
On its Raising Day, the Border Security Force reiterated its dedication to the nation and its motto of ‘lifelong duty’.
