New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) BSF personnel, backed by cutting-edge technical countermeasures and trustworthy intelligence, successfully intercepted four Pakistani drones and two heroin consignments within a single day along the Punjab border, as confirmed by an official on Monday.

"The drones recovered consisted of two DJI AIR 3S and two DJI Mavic 3 Classic models, discovered in agricultural fields located in Tarn Taran and Amritsar districts. Alongside the drones, two heroin consignments weighing 541 grams and 570 grams were also seized," the statement indicated.

The statement went on to explain that "BSF's determined actions, in conjunction with the Punjab Police, have once more disrupted the malicious schemes of cross-border narcotics syndicates, highlighting their strong resolve to combat the drug threat and secure the border against smuggling operations."

The BSF operates as a central armed police force under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Its duties include safeguarding the nation's borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his best wishes on BSF Raising Day, acknowledging that their vigilance and bravery enhance the nation's safety and security.

The Border Security Force is commemorating its 60th Raising Day since its establishment in 1965.

In his message, the Prime Minister praised their commitment and service, emphasizing the BSF’s role as a crucial line of defense and commending their outstanding contributions.

PM Modi stated on X, "Warm greetings to the Border Security Force on their Raising Day! The BSF embodies courage, dedication, and unparalleled service, forming a critical line of defense. Their vigilance and bravery are vital to our nation's safety and security."

As the BSF celebrates its day, the force has reiterated its dedication to its motto. "As #BSFturns60 today, we, the Seema Prahari, proudly reaffirm our commitment to serving our Nation. We remain steadfast in our dedication to uphold our motto."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked on this occasion that the soldiers exhibit unwavering readiness to sacrifice their lives for the nation.

HM Shah expressed on X, "The soldiers of the @BSF_India have defended the honor and aspirations of Bharat with fierce determination, never hesitating to lay down their lives for it. Their courage and sacrifices are the indelible source of inspiration that has motivated generations of patriots to ensure that our nation thrives eternally. My solemn respect to the bravehearts who made the ultimate sacrifice in duty."

Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, also extended her warm regards to the valiant personnel of the BSF.

The BSF stands as the largest border-guarding force globally, securing the extensive 6,386.36 km long International Borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

On the occasion of its Raising Day, the Border Security Force reasserted its commitment to the nation and its motto of ‘lifelong duty’.
