Itanagar, Oct 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, emphasized on Tuesday that transparency is not just a procedural formality but a culture that is being cultivated and reinforced within the state to promote good governance and build public trust.
During a ceremony in Itanagar, the Chief Minister honored the successful candidates of the Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination (CHSLE) 2025 by distributing appointment letters.
This event signified another achievement in the state government’s persistent endeavors to endorse merit, fairness, and transparency in public recruitment, Khandu remarked.
Khandu praised the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) for conducting the CHSLE 2025 in a record duration, completing the entire recruitment procedure, from advertisement to final recommendation, in just three months, thereby establishing a new standard for administrative efficiency and integrity.
Over 21,000 candidates participated at 12 centers and 113 venues, showcasing the increasing confidence of Arunachalee youth in the transparent framework established by the APSSB.
Among them, 64 candidates were selected solely based on merit. Remarkably, seven APST candidates achieved positions in the unreserved category, demonstrating the state’s growing talent and competitive spirit.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the formation of the APSSB was one of the most pivotal governance reforms initiated by his administration.
“The Board was established through a deliberate decision, enacted by an Act passed by the state Assembly, with a firm commitment to eradicate corruption and favoritism in recruitment,” he remarked.
He reiterated the board’s motto, “Equal Opportunity for All,” stressing that it embodies the government’s vision for a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment system.
Commending the APSSB for implementing the Answer Key Challenge System, he stated that this initiative embodies the government’s culture of transparency and accountability.
While addressing the newly appointed candidates, Khandu urged them to maintain the highest standards of integrity and diligence.
“This appointment letter is not just a document - it is a public trust, a manifestation of the faith that the people of Arunachal Pradesh have placed in you,” he expressed.
Expressing astonishment at the qualifications of several candidates – ranging from engineering degrees to Master’s in Mathematics – Khandu encouraged them to participate in upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service and Union Public Service Commission examinations.
“I hope that during the next appointment letter distribution for newly recruited civil service officers, I will see many of you receiving it from my hands,” he added.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s dedication to empowering the youth through consistent, transparent recruitment initiatives by the APSSB and the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
He also emphasized ongoing investments in skill development, entrepreneurship, and sports to create diverse opportunities for youth employment and growth.
“Through institutions like the APSSB, we are forging a future where merit is acknowledged, hard work is rewarded, and honesty is esteemed. In the next 10-15 years, the Arunachal government will cultivate a proficient, capable, and meritorious workforce,” the Chief Minister stated.
The event was also attended by Cabinet ministers Balo Raja, Kento Jini, Dasanglu Pul, and B R Wahge.
