Did the Balochistan Liberation Front Eliminate 10 Pakistani Soldiers in Recent Strikes?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Quetta, Dec 30 (NationPress) The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has taken responsibility for multiple assaults throughout Balochistan, specifically in Jhao, Barkhan, Tump, and Turbat, resulting in the deaths of ten Pakistani military personnel, as reported by local media on Tuesday.
These operations, executed on Monday, occurred less than a day after Baloch militant factions, including the BLF, allegedly killed at least fifteen soldiers.
In a statement to the media, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch indicated that BLF fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Jhao region of Awaran district on December 28 in the afternoon.
The ambush specifically targeted an army foot patrol, a bomb-disposal unit, and a pickup vehicle that were gathered at a single location, as noted by The Balochistan Post.
According to the report, eight enemy personnel were killed immediately, while three others sustained serious injuries.
The group further claimed that an armored vehicle meant to secure the convoy "abandoned the scene during the ambush, leaving behind the dead and wounded personnel," also mentioning that they would release video evidence of the attack shortly.
Following the initial ambush, the group announced a second attack later that night, aimed at a military camp located in the Srati-Tik area near Rakhni in Barkhan district.
The statement revealed that fighters utilized heavy weaponry, including rocket-propelled grenades, resulting in the deaths of two Pakistani troops and injuring another as the grenades impacted within the camp.
The BLF also reported conducting a third strike earlier on December 28 in the Gomazi area of Tump, launching heavy shells at a military checkpoint, causing what they described as "casualties and material losses" to Pakistani soldiers stationed there.
In an additional incident, the group claimed responsibility for throwing a hand grenade at the main entrance of a Navy camp in central Turbat on December 27, leading to casualties among the Pakistani forces present and prompting increased patrols by Pakistani troops in the vicinity.
The BLF reiterated its commitment to continue armed confrontations against Pakistani forces until the goal of an "independent Balochistan" is achieved.
