Quetta, Dec 27 (NationPress) The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) announced on Saturday that it was behind two distinct assaults in the regions of Ormara and Surab, resulting in the deaths of six Pakistani soldiers.
In a separate incident, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) reported executing a grenade strike against police forces in the Kachhi district.
According to a media statement released on Friday, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch indicated that BLF combatants targeted a joint checkpoint of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) and police in Surab Bazaar on the evening of December 25, resulting in the deaths of two FC members and injuries to three others.
The organization also claimed that on the same day, its fighters attacked a Pakistani military camp located in the Basol area of Ormara, as reported by The Balochistan Post.
The statement elaborated that a BLF sniper unit initially shot and killed a Pakistani soldier manning the camp’s security post, followed by an assault from another squad equipped with rocket-propelled grenades and heavy weaponry. The group asserted that three additional personnel were killed, with several others sustaining injuries.
The BLF noted that in retaliation, Pakistani forces “unleashed machine-gun fire and launched mortars in various directions,” adding that its fighters safely withdrew after completing their operation.
The organization emphasized its commitment to “persist in the struggle until the mission of our martyrs is realized.”
In another statement, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for a grenade attack targeting police personnel in Dhadar city, located in the Kachhi district, on Friday.
BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch stated that its fighters used a hand grenade to strike a police position, resulting in “casualties and material losses” inflicted on what the group terms “occupying forces.” He underscored that such attacks will persist “until the freedom of Balochistan” is achieved.
The people of Balochistan are currently engaged in a struggle for independence from Pakistan.
Numerous human rights organizations in Balochistan have repeatedly spotlighted the oppression imposed by Pakistani forces in the province, which encompasses violent raids on the homes of Baloch leaders and civilians, unlawful arrests, enforced disappearances, the 'kill and dump' policy, detention under the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, and the filing of fabricated police cases.
