Businessman and Spouse Discovered Dead in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh Following ED Raid

Bhopal, Dec 13 (NationPress) A middle-aged businessman and his wife were found dead in their residence in Madhya Pradesh's Sehore, approximately 45 km from Bhopal, according to police reports released on Friday.
The deceased couple has been identified as Manoj Parmar and his wife Neha Parmar. Authorities discovered their bodies hanging from ceiling fans within their home.
Reports indicate that police have recovered a suicide note from the Parmar residence; however, the investigation team has not yet revealed its contents.
This tragic event occurred just a week after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) executed a raid on Parmar's properties in Sehore and Indore.
The ED agents conducted searches at multiple locations, including four of Parmar's premises on December 5. Several other business figures, including notable jewellers and a Chartered Accountant (CA), were also targeted.
During these raids, the ED confiscated documents pertaining to various movable and immovable assets, as well as freezing a bank account balance of Rs 3.5 lakh. Parmar was arrested in connection with an alleged Rs 6 crore fraud case involving a nationalized bank.
Family members claim that the couple experienced severe stress due to the ED's actions against them. "He (Manoj Parmar) was under mental stress due to the ED's raid. He ended his life because he was harassed by the ED," stated Manoj's younger brother, Kailash Parmar, in a press briefing on Friday.
Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh, attributed the deaths to the ED's actions, asserting that Parmar was subjected to unwarranted harassment.
"Manoj Parmar was being harassed by the ED without any valid reason, primarily due to his children gifting a piggy bank to Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. His residence was raided by ED Assistant Director Sanjeet Kumar Sahu," Digvijaya Singh stated.
Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh further mentioned arranging legal representation for Parmar, yet he was reportedly too frightened and took his own life.
"I had also secured a lawyer for Manoj. However, he was so terrified that today he and his wife committed suicide this morning. I demand a thorough investigation into this matter from the director of the ED," Singh expressed in a series of social media posts.
The police in Sehore district confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and that further investigations are ongoing.
