Bhopal, March 17 (NationPress) A 25-year-old individual from the Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh has tragically taken his own life while streaming live on social media, where he expressed his decision to make this drastic choice.

Echoing a similar incident involving Bengaluru AI engineer Atul Subhash, the young man from Amanaudhiya village in the Sirmaur police jurisdiction hanged himself after broadcasting live.

His video emerged on Monday, wherein he accused his wife's family members, including his mother-in-law and her daughters, of being the cause of his distress.

In the heartbreaking video, he is seen hanging from a wooden beam using a sari. According to law enforcement, this tragic event took place on March 13.

The deceased, identified as Shiv Prakash Tripathi, left a poignant message in Hindi during the live stream: “Dosto, aaj main live aya hun, aaj main apni zindgi ki aakhiri saanse lunga. Aaj hi phansi bhi lagaunga. Mera ghar barbad karne ka karan meri saas aur uski betiyan hain, Bhaiyo main mar bhi jaun to unhe chhodna nahi.” (Friends, today I have come live, I will take my last breath. I will hang myself today. The reason for ruining my home is my mother-in-law and her daughters. Brothers, even if I die, do not abandon them).

Viewers on social media watched his live stream in shock, yet no one could intervene.

In a phone interview with IANS, J.P. Patel, the investigation officer and head of the Sirmaur police station, confirmed that the police have located his body and conducted a post-mortem examination. He died by hanging.

“He has been identified as Shiv Prakash Tripathi. A few months prior, he resided in Vardha, Maharashtra, with his father and elder brother, earning a living through Hindu rituals such as puja. Unfortunately, he suffered an accident that resulted in a leg injury, necessitating surgery. His father suggested he return to the village to stay with family. He had been living there since,”

the officer stated.

Following the incident, law enforcement has initiated a case and is conducting an investigation.

According to the investigating officer, “Preliminary inquiries suggest he had a drinking problem, but it remains unclear how his mother-in-law and her daughters, who live elsewhere, harassed him. His immediate family has not lodged any complaints against them. Initial findings indicate he may have been aimlessly wandering in the village. Nevertheless, he visited his in-laws' house the day before the incident, which could imply something transpired then; the investigation is ongoing.”
