Yet Another Student Takes Their Life in Kota, Rajasthan Amidst JEE Preparations

Jaipur, Jan 9 (NationPress) In a tragic incident, a young scholar, who was gearing up for the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, committed suicide in the Vigyan Nagar police station jurisdiction of Kota district, Rajasthan, just a day after another similar incident.

The deceased, identified as Abhishek, was a 20-year-old hailing from Guna in Madhya Pradesh.

Since May of the previous year, he had been living in a paying guest accommodation located in Ambedkar Nagar near Daknia railway station while preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.

This occurrence represents the second student suicide in Kota within a short span of 24 hours.

On the preceding day, Neeraj, a 19-year-old from Mahendragarh, Haryana, also tragically took his own life in a hostel situated in the Jawahar Nagar area.

According to Circle Inspector Mukesh Meena from Vigyan Nagar police station, Abhishek was discovered hanging from a fan, though there was no hanging device connected to it, as per official directives.

The precise motivations behind his drastic action are still unclear.

In another distressing case, a 19-year-old engineering hopeful, identified as Neeraj Jat, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan inside his room in Kota, Rajasthan, as confirmed by police on Wednesday.

Neeraj was found hanging in his hostel room at Anand Kunj Residency in the Rajiv Gandhi Nagar area on Tuesday night.

This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Jawahar Nagar police station.

The hostel owner, who discovered the lifeless body during a routine inspection, promptly alerted the authorities and the student's relatives.

As per Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dilip Saini, Neeraj had been preparing for the JEE exam in Kota for a duration of two years.

On Tuesday evening, Neeraj had gone out for a meal with a friend and seemingly showed no signs of distress.

When he did not respond during the evening attendance check, the staff peered through a window and found his body hanging.

He had utilized a hook affixed to the ceiling fan to end his life.

The body was transferred to the mortuary at MBBS Hospital on Wednesday, where a post-mortem examination will be performed upon the arrival of his family, according to officials.

Hostel staff reported that Neeraj had dined out with a friend on Tuesday evening and did not exhibit any indications of stress.
