Businessman and Spouse Found Deceased in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh Following ED Raid

Bhopal, Dec 13 (NationPress) The unfortunate passing of businessman Manoj Parmar and his wife Neha Parmar at their residence in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday has led to widespread controversy.
This new controversy arose after the BJP circulated a purported video showing MP Congress unit chief Jitu Patwari conversing with the son of the deceased couple.
Subsequently, the son accused MP BJP chief and Khajuraho MP V. D. Sharma of being responsible for his parents' deaths.
BJP MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani claimed that Patwari had misled the boy into blaming V. D. Sharma, further accusing the Congress party of exploiting the tragedy of the couple's death for political gain.
"The minor boy was persuaded by Jitu Patwari to name MP BJP chief V. D. Sharma, as clearly shown in the video. He initially visited to offer condolences but attempted to politicize the situation, which is utterly reprehensible," Sabnani stated at a press conference.
Sabnani added that Patwari should issue an apology; otherwise, BJP members would protest against him, including potential legal actions.
Earlier, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijaya Singh held the ED accountable for the couple's deaths, claiming that Parmar faced undue harassment.
"Manoj Parmar was subjected to unwarranted pressure from the ED, primarily because his children presented a piggy bank to Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. His home was raided by ED Assistant Director Sanjeet Kumar Sahu," Singh alleged.
Rajya Sabha MP Singh further mentioned that he had arranged for a lawyer to defend Parmar, but ultimately, he took his own life.
"I had also secured a lawyer for Manoj. However, he was so frightened that he and his wife took their own lives this morning. I demand a thorough investigation from the ED director on this matter," Singh expressed in a series of social media updates.
It is noteworthy that the ED had carried out raids at multiple locations, including four of Parmar's properties in Sehore and Indore on December 5. Other businessmen, including prominent jewellers and a Chartered Accountant (CA), were also targeted.
During these operations, the ED confiscated documents linked to various assets and froze a bank account containing Rs 3.5 lakh. Parmar was also detained in connection with an alleged Rs 6 crore fraud case involving a nationalized bank.
Family members have claimed that the couple was under extreme pressure due to the ED's actions. "He (Manoj Parmar) was suffering from mental distress due to the ED's raid. He took his life because of the harassment from the ED," Manoj's younger brother Kailash Parmar, a district-level Congress leader, stated to the media.
Authorities have reportedly found a suicide note at Parmar's home; however, the details of its contents remain undisclosed by the investigating team. The investigation into this incident is currently ongoing, according to police sources.
