Bhopal, Jan 21 (NationPress) BJP MLA Riti Pathak on Tuesday accused Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, who oversees the Health and Family Welfare Department, of failing to release a sanctioned fund of Rs 7 crore intended for the infrastructure enhancement of Sidhi district hospital.

Notably, Pathak made these allegations while in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla.

Pathak, the MLA from Sidhi, expressed that she had reached out to Deputy CM Shukla, but has yet to receive a response.

Furthermore, Pathak criticized Shukla, suggesting he should extend his focus beyond his home district of Rewa and address the health infrastructure needs of other regions as well.

"Rajendra Shukla is often referred to as Vikas Purush, yet he should not confine his efforts to Rewa alone; he must also advocate for the development of Sidhi. The Sidhi district hospital deserves comprehensive facilities," Pathak remarked during an event in Jabalpur on Monday.

It’s worth mentioning that Shukla and Pathak represent neighboring districts within the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh.

According to sources, Pathak approached Chief Minister Mohan Yadav regarding this matter on Monday.

The opposition Congress, already plagued by internal divisions, seized this moment to criticize the ruling BJP, alleging that the party is ignoring its own legislator.

Senior Congress leader Ajay Singh from Sidhi mocked the ruling party, stating that BJP leaders campaigned on the promise of development, but have resorted to blaming one another post-election.

"If Rs 7 crore has vanished from one district, one can only imagine the state of affairs across the remaining 55 districts," remarked Ajay Singh, a former Leader of the Opposition in the MP Assembly.

Prior to her election as an MLA from Sidhi, Pathak was elected as an MP twice from the same constituency. She notably remains the only representative sent by the Centre to the state who has not been appointed as a minister.
