Bhopal, Jan 20 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh High Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar on Monday criticized Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, questioning his patriotism. He emphasized that a son born to a foreign woman cannot be a true patriot.
Parmar condemned Rahul Gandhi's statement about "fighting against the Indian state" and asserted that the current Congress leadership appears conflicted about whether to support or oppose the nation. He labeled the former Congress chief's recent comments as anti-national.
In a conversation with journalists, Parmar stated that Rahul Gandhi cannot be a "true patriot" as he is the "son of a foreign woman".
He recalled that once, Chandragupta Maurya proposed marrying a foreign woman, and Chanakya advised him that a son from such a union could not rule Magadh. "I believe that the son born to a foreign woman cannot be a true patriot," added the Madhya Pradesh minister.
Parmar's comments were a response to Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks about the BJP and RSS allegedly taking over all institutions, stating, "we are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian state itself".
Additionally, these remarks came just a week prior to Rahul Gandhi's scheduled arrival in Madhya Pradesh to launch Congress' nationwide campaign 'Jai Babu, Jai Bhim and Jai Samvidhan' from Mhow on January 27.
The Congress aims to initiate the campaign from Mhow, the birthplace of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, to challenge the BJP over remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Parliament that were deemed disrespectful.
Alongside Rahul Gandhi, all members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), including AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, will also be present in Mhow on January 27.
In response to Congress' Mhow event, the BJP has announced its own initiative, ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Diwas,’ with planned events throughout the state.
Several senior BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister J.P. Nadda (who is also the BJP national president), and Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, are scheduled to visit Madhya Pradesh for this campaign.
According to party sources, Amit Shah will address a public rally in Bhopal, while Nitin Gadkari will participate in events in Indore.
Similarly, J.P. Nadda will attend a rally in Jabalpur, and Vinod Tawde, BJP national general secretary, will lead a program in Rewa.
