Political Tensions Rise in MP Ahead of Rahul Gandhi's January 27th Visit

Bhopal, Jan 12 (NationPress) As tensions escalate between the Congress and BJP regarding B.R. Ambedkar, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, is slated to visit Mhow, the birthplace of the Constitution's architect.
The Congress has organized the launch of the "Jai Babu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan" initiative in Mhow on January 27, coinciding with Rahul Gandhi and Kharge's presence, aimed at criticizing the BJP following Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comments about Ambedkar made in Parliament.
The Madhya Pradesh Congress unit has officially announced that the Mhow event, which is part of the 'Samvidhan Bachao' campaign, was initially planned for January 26 but has now been moved to January 27 due to the Republic Day festivities.
Congress General Secretary Bhanwar Jitendra Singh, responsible for the Madhya Pradesh Congress, stated while reviewing preparations for the Mhow event, "The 'Samvidhan Bachao' campaign will persist until the BJP offers an apology for Amit Shah's derogatory comments about Ambedkar. With the approaching event, the State Congress unit, under Jitu Patwari's leadership, has been engaged in numerous meetings with party members. During the event, Congress volunteers will reach out to every household in rural areas. Over two lakh Congress supporters, including both national and state leaders, are expected to attend."
In response to Singh's remarks, State BJP President V. D. Sharma remarked on Saturday that Rahul Gandhi should apologize for any disrespect shown to Ambedkar during the long-standing Congress governance.
Sharma asserted that history shows Ambedkar faced disrespect from former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the Congress.
"Rahul Gandhi is welcomed in Mhow, but he should apologize to the nation for the disrespect towards Ambedkar prior to his visit. The Nehru-Gandhi family has consistently disrespected Ambedkar while now attempting to politicize his legacy," the State BJP President stated during a press conference in Bhopal on Saturday.
"They obstructed his (B.R. Ambedkar) electoral victories, awarded Bharat Ratna to their own leaders, and failed to establish a memorial honoring Ambedkar's contributions. The Congress' true sentiments towards Ambedkar are becoming evident, yet they demand apologies from us (BJP)," Sharma concluded.
