Bhopal, Jan 27 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Minister Vishvas Sarang on Monday launched a fierce critique against Congress MP and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, regarding the party's nationwide 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' initiative and demanded an apology for what he described as "disrespecting" Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The Congress party initiated the programme from Mhow, the birthplace of Dr Ambedkar, as a homage to the architect of the Indian Constitution.

In response to the programme, Sarang stated to IANS, "If Rahul Gandhi sincerely wishes to honor Ambedkar, he should first apologize for the affronts Ambedkar endured from the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Pandit Nehru intentionally obstructed Ambedkar's journey to the Lok Sabha, a fact Ambedkar himself acknowledged."

Criticizing the visit to Mhow, Sarang remarked, "I would only endorse Rahul Gandhi's visit if he expresses regret for the continual derogations directed at Ambedkar by his forebears."

"He (Rahul Gandhi) belongs to the Nehru family, which is the only reason he is in politics today," he further asserted.

The Madhya Pradesh Minister accused the Congress of hypocrisy, stating, "If Rahul Gandhi seeks to debate the Constitution, he must also apologize for how Indira Gandhi disrespected it during the Emergency and for dissolving democratically-elected state governments for political advantage. She misused the Constitution."

The Congress' Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi was also expected to participate in the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' rally; however, she chose not to attend.

Sarang also commented on Priyanka Gandhi's absence from the event, deeming it unsurprising and characterizing the Congress initiative as mere political theatrics.

"It is all a drama. The Congress solely engages in such tours to promote its political ambitions; it has no real connection to the ground reality," Sarang added.
