Bhopal, Jan 17 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Madhya Pradesh minister Vishvas Sarang on Friday accused the Congress of exploiting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's legacy for its political survival. Sarang, who serves as the Sports and Youth Welfare Minister in Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's Cabinet, stated that history shows the Congress has not shown proper regard for either Dr. Ambedkar or the Constitution he helped establish.

He remarked, "Jawaharlal Nehru even attempted to prevent Dr. Ambedkar from entering Parliament, conspiring to defeat him in the elections. Nehru also insulted Dr. Ambedkar within the Parliament, and these details are accessible to the public."

While addressing IANS about Congress' upcoming program in Mhow, the birthplace of Dr. Ambedkar, Sarang urged Rahul Gandhi to apologize to the nation for disrespecting Dr. Ambedkar.

"If he (Rahul Gandhi) sincerely regrets the actions of his ancestors, it would be a true tribute to Dr. Ambedkar. He should express remorse for the errors made by Nehru and Indira Gandhi during his visit to Mhow," Sarang continued.

It's worth noting that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, along with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, is set to visit Mhow to kick off Congress' extensive campaign 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' on January 27.

Prominent figures such as Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Congress Working Committee (CWC) members, including former and current Chief Ministers, will also participate in the campaign in Mhow.

This campaign represents Congress' first significant political effort in Madhya Pradesh following its substantial loss in the 2023 Assembly elections.

The defeat resulted in a leadership change within the state party, with veteran leader Kamal Nath replaced by Jitu Patwari as the new state unit chief.

To counter Congress' event in Mhow, the BJP announced its own initiative, 'Samvidhan Gaurav Diwas', with various events scheduled across the state.

Several senior BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister J.P. Nadda (who is also the national president of BJP), and Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, are expected to attend this campaign in Madhya Pradesh.

According to party sources, Amit Shah will speak at a public rally in Bhopal, while Nitin Gadkari will be involved in events in Indore.

Likewise, J.P. Nadda will participate in a rally in Jabalpur, and Vinod Tawde, BJP's national general secretary, will oversee a program in Rewa.
