Mumbai, April 11 (NationPress) Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, on Friday, accused the Congress of continuously disrespecting the architect of the Constitution, B.R. Ambedkar.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has shown its respect and honor for B.R. Ambedkar through various decisions, Union Minister Meghwal stated.
He urged BJP workers to counter the misleading narrative propagated by opposition parties concerning Ambedkar, the Constitution, and the BJP, and to communicate the truth to everyone.
The Minister was speaking at the Babasaheb Ambedkar 'Samman Abhiyan' workshop organized by the Maharashtra BJP unit.
Union Minister Meghwal highlighted that the BJP has demonstrated its respect for B.R. Ambedkar through numerous initiatives, including the Bharat Ratna award, Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra, Panchatirtha, Deekshabhoomi Vikas, and by installing an oil painting of Ambedkar in the Parliament's Central Hall.
“The Congress has always shown animosity towards Ambedkar. From defeating Ambedkar in elections to obstructing his work in the Constituent Assembly, the Congress prevented Ambedkar from including vital provisions in the Constitution for the upliftment of all Backward Classes and comprehensive development,” he added.
The State BJP Working President Ravindran Chavan remarked that by formulating the Constitution, Ambedkar laid the foundation for the nation's overall progress and the advancement of every societal segment.
“The BJP aims to develop every section and uphold social harmony by promoting Ambedkar's philosophies. While the BJP works to ensure national unity without divisions based on caste and religion, the Opposition collaborates with destructive forces both domestically and internationally to undermine the nation's integrity,” he added.
Chavan encouraged every party worker to visit villages statewide and share Ambedkar's thoughts and the BJP's dedication to the Constitution with the populace.
He mentioned that as part of this initiative, the BJP will conduct various programs statewide over the next 15 days.
On April 13, the statues and memorials of Ambedkar and their surroundings will be cleaned, and on April 14, celebratory programs will be organized in various locations for Ambedkar's birth anniversary.
