BJP Leaders Honor B.R. Ambedkar on the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas

New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) On the 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas, BJP leaders expressed their respect for the architect of the Indian Constitution, whose forward-thinking leadership established the groundwork for a democratic, inclusive, and egalitarian India.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale underscored the importance of this day, stating, “Today marks Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ji's Mahaparinirvan Diwas. On this occasion, at the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ji in Parliament, leaders from various backgrounds pay floral tributes to acknowledge his invaluable contributions.”

BJP MP Jagdambika Pal stressed the resilience of India’s democracy, crediting it to B.R. Ambedkar's constitutional vision. He stated, “Our Constitution, bestowed by Baba Saheb, is the reason for the strength of India’s democracy. While neighboring nations like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh encounter political challenges, it is India’s Constitution that maintains the integrity of our democratic processes and framework, serving as a beacon for the world.”

Lal Singh Arya, National President of the BJP’s SC Morcha, also offered a sincere tribute to B.R. Ambedkar, saying, “Baba Saheb dedicated his life to achieving social, economic, and political justice. He fought tirelessly for the upliftment of children, women, and the underprivileged. On this 69th death anniversary, I bow at his feet and urge everyone to remember that Baba Saheb lived not for himself but for the nation.”

Earlier that day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, former President Ram Nath Kovind, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla paid their respects to Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at the Parliament House Lawns on his death anniversary. The leaders laid floral tributes to the architect of our Constitution.

Mahaparinirvan Diwas, which is observed every year on December 6, honors the death anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar, who passed away in 1956 at his residence in Delhi.

Dr Ambedkar was a key member of the seven-person committee that drafted the Indian Constitution and was instrumental in shaping modern India.

Recognized for his substantial contributions, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, in 1990.
