New Delhi, Dec 6 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his death anniversary, recognized as Mahaparinirvan Diwas, this Saturday. He commended Dr. Ambedkar's visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to constitutionalism.
Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, widely referred to as Babasaheb, was a distinguished Indian jurist and social reformer, celebrated as the principal architect of the Constitution of India. His life was devoted to combating caste discrimination and championing the rights of Dalits and other marginalized groups.
Dr. Ambedkar departed this world on December 6, 1956, and was posthumously conferred the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1990. His birth anniversary, April 14, is commemorated as Ambedkar Jayanti.
In a message on X, PM Modi stated, "On this Mahaparinirvan Diwas, we remember Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. His visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to justice, equality, and constitutional principles continue to illuminate our national path.
